Contest rules

The African Animation Film Festival of Douala (CANIMAF) is launching a contest for the creation of the official poster for its 4th edition. This contest is open to all artists, graphic designers, and illustrators residing in Cameroon. We invite you to participate and showcase your talent by creating a poster that represents our festival and its values.

Contest theme: The poster must incorporate the festival's mascots and reflect the spirit of African animation cinema, while highlighting the 2024 edition of CANIMAF, which will focus on Cameroonian animation.

Contest rules:

Participation conditions:

• The contest is open to all artists residing in Cameroon, with no age restriction.
• Each participant can submit only one poster.
• Collective works are accepted, provided the contributions of each group member are specified.

Submission criteria:

• The poster must be an original creation and not have been published or submitted to other contests.
• We prefer flat design creations.
• The poster must incorporate the official CANIMAF mascots.
• The festival's mascots can be 2D or 3D and should be harmoniously integrated with the rest of the design.
• The poster must include the following text: "African Animation Film Festival of Douala (CANIMAF) - 4th edition - 2024" with a focus on Cameroon.
• Poster format: A3 in portrait orientation is preferred.
• Minimum resolution: 300 dpi.
• Submissions must be in JPEG or PNG format. The source file (PSD or AI) should be retained by the artist and sent if selected.

Selection and announcement of the winner:

• A jury composed of professionals from the animation cinema and visual arts fields will select the finalist.
• The works will be evaluated based on creativity, originality, artistic quality, and relevance to the theme.
• The winner will be announced on September 25, 2024, on the CANIMAF website and social media.

Reward:

• The contest winner will receive exceptional publicity on their background and works. Their creations will be highlighted across our communication platforms and media partners.
• The winning poster will be used as the official poster of CANIMAF 2024 and will be widely distributed for event promotion.
• A cash prize of 200,000 CFA francs will be awarded to the winner.
