This 5th edition of CANIMAF opens in a particular context in Cameroon, marked by a sensitive political period that led the organizers to rethink the festival format. This situation, although constraining, was an opportunity to assert a new direction: laying the foundations for a more structured, more demanding CANIMAF that is resolutely international in scope.
It is in this spirit that a smaller but ambitious edition was born, favoring the relevance of projects and artistic coherence. The official 2025 selection therefore includes a reduced number of films, each chosen with the aim of highlighting freedom of expression.
The absence of international guests this year is only a strategic pause. CANIMAF is already preparing to broaden its outreach to partners, studios and professionals from around the world for the next edition.
In the meantime, this 2025 selection proudly represents African and international creativity and testifies to the festival's determination to continue growing despite the challenges.
